In the other gardensAnd all up the vale,From the autumn bonfiresSee the smoke trail!Pleasant summer overAnd all the summer flowers,The red fire blazes,The gray smoke towers.Sing a song of seasons!Something bright in all!Flowers in the summer,Fires in the fall!
Autumn Fires Robert Louis Stevenson { from AChild’sGarden of Verses, 1885}

Happy to share with you today our Colors of Autumn Mantel. We look forward the most to this time of year and decorating and all the family gatherings that follow. While all the other seasons have their special place in out hearts, there is just something that speaksdifferently to us from Autumn through Winter.
To pull together a short lived Autumn mantel we simply reused items we already had, some a little differently and some more the same way.

We dressed our mantel mirror with paper leafdoilies strung on a piece of natural twine and added the word “autumn” with letters we found from Sweetly Scrapped.

Packed silk Harvestfoliage and gourds into a black planter to show off the beautiful colors of Autumn.

Do these colors speak to you?

Using leftoverupholstery fabric from our chairreupholster, we wrapped up a few candles and finished them off with some twine.

Stenciled candle jars were reused and to give them a new feel, we changed out the beans for Autumnfoliage.

We knew when we found this beautiful printable from Sweetly Scrapped it wasmeantfor our Autumn mantel.
We used two of the printables on each side of our mantel. The muted colors and beautiful design is lovely.

A few gourds on the mantel to show the awesome colors of Autumn and the promise of God’s bounty.

What will your Autumn mantel look like this year?

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
Psalm 119:105
