Homemade facial and body scrub with baking soda

Prepare a baking soda face and body scrub at home as a daily scrub to remove dead skin cells. Baking soda is available for about US $ 0.75 cents per pound (0.5 kg). Generally, even people with sensitive skin find it effective without being irritated. Adapt it according to your skin type (dry, oily, acne-prone or sensitive), by adding different essential oils extracted from plants and flowers. The scrub can be used on calluses and increases its efficiency if combined with lemon juice because of alpha hydroxy acids.

You need:

– baking soda
– various essential oils
– lavender or tea tree
– Ylang Ylang or sage
– Roman chamomile

Directions:

Combine 2 tablespoons of baking soda with water until you create a thin paste.

Adapt the exfoliating mix according to your skin type. For sensitive skin add 3-5 drops of lavender essential oil and 3-5 drops of Roman chamomile. For oily skin add 3 to 5 drops of lavender and 3 to 5 drops of tea tree oil. For dry skin add 3-5 drops of lavender and 3-5 drops of Ylang Ylang or 3-5 drops of sage essential oil.

Use it according to your skin type. For the body, the same types of essential oils can be added according to your skin type. Use 7 to 9 drops for this purpose. Exfoliation can be used to soften calluses. It’s more effective with if you add lemon juice because of the alpha hydroxy acids.

Make a version for your child. Children enjoy fruit peels as a body scrub. For example, take a pineapple bark (or an orange or lemon peel), sprinkle some baking soda over them and use them as foot scrubs.
