It is believed that wild oregano oil has several medical uses. The most important one is in the sinusitis treatment – a viral, a bacterial or a fungal infection of the sinuses. The active ingredients of this oil have powerful antibacterial, antiseptic and antifungal properties, making it a great candidate for treating sinusitis naturally.
1. Make a mixture of oregano oil and water. Starting with the smallest amounts, place one to five drops of oregano oil in 1 tablespoon of water and take it three times a day. Alternatively, you can use a dropper and place one to five drops of oregano oil under your tongue. If sinusitis is extreme or difficult to cure, you may need higher doses than usual.
2. Use oregano oil topically as an antiseptic and as a painkiller for sinusitis. Rub oregano oil on the outside of your sinuses and leave it there to act for a while. If you have sensitive skin or oregano oil is too strong for you, dilute it in olive oil. If your eyes are irritated because oil vapors, wash them with oil-soluble substances. As for holistic, herbal or home remedies, there are no studies published by academic sources. If you try an herbal remedy and you believe it has harmful effects on you, stop the treatment immediately and consult a health care professional.
3. Continue using oregano oil only as indicated. Track your progress and see what benefits you get. If no improvement appears in four or five days, you should stop using oregano oil.
